A few days ago I remembered something I wanted to do last year. I am not sure why I didn’t do it really. It could have been that I was just starting a new job, didn’t have the money, or maybe I just plain wussed out. There is a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Rockefeller Center (New York City) every year. I thought it would be a great photo opportunity. I want to go buy again I am facing a couple hurdles. Cost isn’t much of a hurdle at this point because doing this project I have found cheap ways to make it happen. I actually went over this once in a previous blog but here it is again…
Bus to NY from MD round trip – $34
Hostel to stay one night ——– $20
So for less than $60 I can spend a night in New York City and take part in one of the greatest yearly events. So what are my hurdles? First of all (and most important) I am still pretty sick and there is only about 3 days until I would go. I have been sick for about a week now and staying out in the NY cold all day is not going to help that any. Secondly, I really don’t want to go by myself. I suppose traveling alone is going to be one of the keys to this project and I need to get over it and it seems this is a good opportunity to see if I have what it takes to do this project.
