The Risk (pt. 2)

Being horribly sick for the past few days has led me to a thought.  What if you were to set out for a long adventure like the one I am planning and during the time spent out in the cold, rain, and otherwise nasty weather you get sick?  I suppose one should always have an escape plan or at least an emergency plan.  Being so sick that you can’t leave the bed can be just an extra night in the hostel but it could also cause you to miss your next ride.  Then there is always the fear of being hospitalized.  In my opinion the best way to deal with this risk is to just have some extra cash set aside for an emergency.  Weather it be a flight home or just a cab ride to the local hospital.  Either way one should be prepared for the worst.  However, this is no where near a good excuse to delay or cancel a trip.  If you sit around thinking about all the things that can go wrong to cause your trip to go bad then you will never even make it out the door.
